Been working day and night on The Sound of Music.  I’m completely exhausted, but the show is going well.  I’ve been promoted to Assistant Stage Manager.  I’m handling stage left.  That puts me in charge of 2 of the Abby Gates, the Abby Monument, 2 Trellises, 2 Garden Benches, 2 Columns, the Concert Microphone, and the Bedroom Set.

Fortunately, the house is going to stay on stage all the time, because it’s so large.  Now we just need to put up the mountain scenery, which is a huge backdrop that should be in today.  We will be setting it up after rehearsal tonight.  I’m really excited to get it up so that we can strike the set.  It will make my job much easier.  Although, it’s not as if I’m doing all of the work, I’ve got a lot of help on my side from some of the guys playing soldiers.

I’ve also got to give a great big Thank You to my mother-in-law, Mary Kay, for coming in yesterday to help with costumes.  The show is only a week away and there was still a lot to do, so she was a really big help.  There are actually four costume changes for the Von Trapp children, all 7 or them, so they had to make 28 costumes just for them, not including the costumes for Maria, Captian, et al.

Good Luck with it! We’ll have to come up to see a show sometime, but it won’t be that one. Too much going on!
