New Kitty

I finally have a new kitten. It took quite a while to talk Matt into it, but I have her. She’s very cute, and mom was going to send her to be a barn cat, where she might have been eaten.
She is a pretty cat. Her markings are what my mom calls “Brintle” but the vet’s office tells me it’s tortoiseshell. And she has had a rough couple of days. She rode home with me from mom’s house in my car yesterday evening. She did a good job riding, but then she got put in a box all night. I let her out for a little while this morning, but she went toward the road, so I put her back in the box until I came home for lunch. I think the new environment has been really stressful for her. I know that when pets are brought to their new home they normally get quite anxious but she’s been very anxious for a few weeks now. I recently read an article that taught me about giving pets CBD and it sounds like a good option for her. I hate seeing her suffer and I know the CBD can work wonders, especially for anxiety!
I let her out again at lunch time, and she’s still wandering off places I don’t want her, so she got put back in the box until I got home for work to take her to the vet. Dr. John says she’s about 4 months old. She got one of her shots, but will have to go back next month for another shot, and in 2 months to be “fixed.”
Our rental agreement says that we can’t have indoor pets, but Vicky (the landlord’s wife) told me that the last couple that lived here had one. I’m really hoping that she will talk Bob into letting her live inside. I don’t want the cat everywhere in the house, but I’d love to have her live in the basement. She could kill all of the icky cave crickets, and I could play with her in the winter without freezing. There is also enough room down there for everything she needs to be in one place. I know I want to get her a cat tree and lots of toys, and I also want a water fountain for her to drink from. I think these are much better than bowls. But mostly, if shes in the basement I don’t have to worry about her getting into trouble by getting in the road or running around under the cows.
This kitten also needs a name. I’m looking for any good ideas. If you have one, comment and let me know. Matt always vetos my ideas, so I could use some help. 🙂
