Sometimes class reunions suck.  Not for the people attending, but for the DJ.  Saturday was one of those nights.

Dave and I DJ’d a class reunion for the North Knox Class of ’80.  The people at the reunion were very nice, I even used to work with one of them as part of my day job.

They seemed to like the music too, but nobody danced.  We worked REALLY hard to try to get people to dance, but all they seemed to want to do was talk.  Not that there is anything wrong with that.  The main point of a class reunion is the get caught up with your classmates after all.

But, if you want to have a dance, you really need to have 2 events.  One either earlier in the day or the day before that is very casual for people to get together and talk, and then the night where you have your dinner and dance.  Because, otherwise, there isn’t a whole lot of reason to pay a DJ to be there.

It’s amazing the HIGH we feel after a good dance and how LOW you can feel after one like this one. I’ve had several complements since then on the music we played and how good a job we did…even tho they didn’t dance much. You’ll have a night like this once and while, it’s the way things go….the good thing is….it doesn’t happen very often.
