I may have just finished a quilt top, but that doesn’t mean I’m planning on taking a break from my quilting.  I’ve already got another (allbeit much smaller) project in the works.  This one will actually be small enough that I’m hoping to attempt to machine quilt it myself, using my sewing machine.  This particular project is going to be a birthday gift for a baby.  Here’s hoping he doesn’t come too early.

The Road Trip Quilt
via Cluck, Cluck,Sew

For this project, I’m using the Road Trip quilt pattern from Cluck, Cluck, Sew and some fabric from the Windham Fabrics Sweetpea collection.  I originally bought the fabric as part of the fat quarter bundle that had some potential for the Super Secret Quilt I made for my sister’s wedding.  I even used a couple of the patterns.  However, several of them were mostly white, which didn’t work for the quilt… and there was that one fabric in the middle of the bundle that said “BABY” on it.  Why they don’t put those things on the outside of the bundles I’ll never know.

Along with the 4 fabrics I had left from that quarter bundle, I’m using 2 solids; Kona Cotton in Corn Yellow and Orange.  Since the fabric is already cut, this quilt should take all of a night to piece together.  Then I only need to sandwich, quilt and bind it.  Since it’s small, I’m not worried about the sandwiching or quilting at all, but I’ve never done any binding, so that process should be very interesting for me.

Do you take a break between projects or move right on to the next?  What projects are you working on now.
