Last night was the 2012 Gibson County Fair Queen Contest.  As always, the contest was held at the PCHS Auditorium before the fair started, that way the queen and her court can participate, as queens, in all of the fair events.

2012 Miss Gibson County Fair with her court and Miss Gibson County 2011.  Front Row left to right: 1st Runner-Up Avery Jones, and Jr. Miss Gibson County Brooke Berry.  Back Row from left to right: 2nd Runner-Up Courtney Michel, 1st Runner-Up Jalyn Stough, 2012 Miss Gibson County Amy Michel, Miss Congeniality Marissa Geuss, and Miss Gibson County 2011 Hailey Bitner.

Dave and I run the sound for this event every year.  Mostly that means playing background music, but we also handle music for the entertainment that gives the girls time to change.  This year we had two pair of dancers and a singer.

Girls dance to Fix You.

Girls dance to Raggy Dolls.

Sophie Wilhite sings Everyday American.

We are in also charge of filler if it takes a while for the judges to come to a decision.  It certainly did this year.  After Hailey gave her speech, we watched a slide show of photos of the queens for the previous year, heard from the people in charge, and Hailey took her final walk as queen we still had to fill time for about 20 minutes.

Hailey takes her final walk as queen.

That’s ok though.  It just means that we had a lot of great ladies to choose from.

Miss Gibson County 2012 gets crowned.

Our queen was really excited about getting crowned.  And her sister Courtney, the 2nd Runner-Up was excited for her too.
