I stopped by a couple of the local junk/antique shops recently and made some good finds.

hem marker

I picked up a vintage hem marker for much less than I would have gotten one new, and it’s probably better made.

vintage sewing books

I also got a nice collection of “The Art of Sewing” books – yes they are Time Life books, and I’m pretty sure they are from the 70’s but they are full of great techniques.

Nice finds! Looks as though they’re in great condition too.

I’m super excited about them. I wish I could have afforded the vintage sewing machine I found, but $350 seemed a bit much for something I didn’t even need.

I almost purchased a vintage surger today but it was already sold:-(

And where did you find a vintage serger? There was a nice vintage featherweight singer at the place on the square, but it was missing the bobbin casing and I didn’t have $350 to spend on it.
