I had the great honor to meet the wonderful and amazing Gloria McKinnon last week.  For those of you who have not heard of Gloria, she is an Australian native, world renowned quilter, owner of Anne’s Glory Box, and author of several amazing books.

Gloria was in Evansville last week, at my favorite local fabric shop, Let’s Sew to teach some classes.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to take either of her classes, but I did get the opportunity to meet her and even show her a couple of my crazy quilts – her specialty.  As you can see below, she does amazing work.

This book is full of fun projects and techniques. Even if you aren’t crazy quilting, there are loads of great embellishments to use for your projects.

Thanks for sharing your encounter with such a talented artist. I have been holding on to some scraps to make a crazy quilt….sounds like now is the time to do it with some great tips from Gloria’s book!

It is an amazing book. It even has templates/instructions on making basic crazy quilt blocks. Plus all of the amazing embellishing techniques!

I could use some embellishing guidance. I tend to go for very simple and I wonder if it’s just because I don’t know how to embellish. Thanks for the giveaway!

I tend to do simple embellishments, but it’s super nice to know how to do some of the other techniques. Sometimes you just really need something fancy.

I love looking at crazy quilts but, have never tried making one. I fear I would over-or under-embellish. I believe this book could help to conquer both those fears. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win! 🙂

I’ve always enjoyed the process of making a crazy quilt. I think you would really enjoy it.

It’s great when you meet someone so talented. I almost got to meet my spinning hero, but had to go to a baby shower.

    • Andrea on August 8, 2013 at 3:24 pm

Oh no! I hope you get the opportunity to meet your hero sometime.

Love crazy quilting! So freeing not to have to line up seams.

How exciting to meet someone with so much CRAZY QUILTING talent! I love the look of Crazy Quilts. I have lots of “special” fabric to make one but have not started it yet. The actual stitch work that makes the quilt “come alive” looks like it will be overwhelming. I think that has me frozen. This book would REALLY help with that part of the quilt. Thanks for offering it to someone. I hope I win!!

I want this book because I want to learn new techniques and improve my sewing and quilting
