I recently finished a fabulous book, written by the author S. A. Hunt. He’s an author you’ve never heard of, but that’s ok. I hadn’t heard of him either until I ran across his book The Whirlwind in the Thorn Tree on BookBub.  At the time, The Whirlwind in the Thorn Tree was available as a free download for Kindle, so I decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. It is a fantasy novel of the first degree.

The book follows a veteran, just home from Afghanistan as his life falls apart. Ross soon finds himself at his father’s funeral being asked to take on the task of completing his father’s work, a book series about the fantasy world of Destin – a series that he had never bothered to read.  Ross soon finds himself and his friends thrown into that fantasy world, fighting a battle for their lives, and all of creation.

If you have enjoyed the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King, or Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, then this is a book you will love. And the best part is that the second book, Law of the Wolf, is already out, so you won’t have to wait to see what happens next.
