Everything seems slow this week in the world of getting things done, but I did get a  quilt back from the quilter last week. Designs by Laura Jo sent me back my String Theory quilt!

So Saturday night I set about making a scrappy binding for the quilt from some more of my silk and brocade fabrics.  They were so stretchy that I didn’t have to worry about doing anything on the bias.  It was a bit of a pain to put it together and get it sewn to the front of the quilt, but I managed to get that done and get the binding pinned to the back. I’m actually giving hand finishing a try! I’ve got about half of it done so far. I’m sure it’s not perfect, but it’s a nice project to have while catching up on some of my favorite TV shows.

The only other project I’ve made any progress on is the Christmas quilt.  I’ve made up/pulled out some fabric flowers to add to the quilt, because the blocks I’ve been working on a feeling a bit one dimensional right now.

What are you working on this week?

Thanks so much for stopping by Carla! I’ll be glad when I get the binding done so that I can focus on my Christmas Crazy Quilt again. I’d really like to have it done before this Christmas, but we’ll see what happens.
