I’m excited to share my most recent quilt finish with you all today. I’ve named the quilt “Yuletide Magic” after the panel that I pulled the focus fabric from.

Aside from that panel, the rest of the fabric was left over from my Christmas Emporium quilt (also known as the Christmas crazy quilt). I wanted to use up as much of my Christmas fabric as possible. That way, I won’t be tempted to buy even more Christmas themed fabric to finish up a project.

The one fabric that I did buy was black tonal yardage that I used for the sashing. I had originally planned to use some solid black yardage I purchased a while back, but it ended up being used as lead fabric on my quilt frame – and I’m so glad it did. The quilt looks so much better with that tonal fabric. I even used some of it on the back.

Each block in the quilt is 12″, with 2″ sashing, so the quilt finishes at approximately 44″x58″,a fantastic size for lounging on the couch. The blocks alternate between traditionally pieced 9-patch blocks and crazy patch blocks. I think my favorite part about this quilt is how well it coordinates with my crazy quilt while still being perfect to cuddle under.

Thank you Heidi! I don’t have any fall themed quilts, so I’m already enjoying snuggling under it.

This is a real fun mix of styles. A great idea, and nothing mousey about it!

Thanks Marly! I really enjoyed making this one.

That is a great quilt! Wonderful to use up some of the stash and finish with a seasonal quilt that will be great to keep warm, or just admire during the season. Visiting from Crazy Mom Quilts.

Thank you so much for stopping by Carole. I love this quilt so much that it makes me want to make another Christmas quilt, but I’m going to try not to… at least for a while. It’s no fun that I can really only have them out for a month or so.
