Is it spring yet? We’ve barely gotten rid of the snow, and my lawn is a muddy marsh.  In fact, the only truly green plant-life I’ve seen lately is what’s left of my Amaryllis.

I don’t generally mind the winter, but I’m to the point that I’m ready for some sunshine and flowers. You can see it all over my house as I’ve been decorating with and making super bright happy quilts.

Are you ready for the sunshine?

You gals are doing it up this week with your gardening and plants. I think I will get a plant and make it a project. The goal is to keep it alive and see how it does by the end of the summer.

    I love your quilts. #ourproject52

Thanks so much Mimi! I’m not much of a green thumb with indoor plants. The cat likes to pee on them so they always seen to die, but somehow that random plant I won at a Christmas party is still alive. Now, outside I do a little more. The hubs and I have a garden every summer where I plant things for canning. If you like tomatoes, grape and cherry tomatoes do well in pot out the back door, and at the end of summer you could be done with your experiment.

I’m so ready for some sunshine. The temperature has finally warmed up where I live but it’s raining 🙁 I hope we have more sunshine next week.

That’s what we had at my house this week too. It was a muddy mess, but at least it was warmer.

Everybody has a bad year. Our garden didn’t do great last year either. I think the weather makes a big difference.

I absolutely love quilts. My mother made one when we were little girls, it was so fun to look at the different patches and remember the clothes or event…

This one didn’t have much in the way of fabric that was originally from something else meaningful, but I have made one that used special fabrics, a pair of grampa’s pajamas, fabric left over from a jumper that grama made for mom, and thing like that. That quilt is very special to me.

I am so ready for sunshine. I’ve started to get a jump start on my gardening. The pollen has been taking me out the past few days. I consider it a small price to pay for the beautiful sunny, warm days ahead.

We suddenly got some sunshine and warm temps last week, but then it went away again. It’s been in the 40s most of this week, and I’m missing the sun.
