What was the last book you read?

The last book I finished reading was The Hundred-Foot Journey by Robert C. Morias. I didn’t know this book existed until I saw trailers for the film.

the hundred-foot journey

I always find books to be better than their movies- there’s only so much you can get into a 2-hour film – so I decided I would add the book to my TBR (to be read) list. I was very excited when I came across it at a local discount store for $1 – I love publisher surplus books.

Do you buy books as soon as they come out, or try to wait and get this at a discounted price? What is the last book you read?

Get out of my head! 😉 I just found a copy of that book! Is it good? I’ve been trying to read more non-detective books by non-native-English-speakers. Tried to read “The Three Mistakes of My Life” and couldn’t get into it. Also tried The White Tiger and didn’t seem to be in the mood. Maybe I’ll give your one a try.

Lately I’ve been reading Maigret and Nestor Burma novels in the original French. Just finished Maigret #1, “The Enigmatic Lett”. Also been enjoying the Inspector Chen Cao series by Qui Xialong.

You should definitely read The Hundred-Foot Journey. It took a chapter or so for me to get into it, but it was an amazing book.

I certainly hope you enjoy it all the way through. I need to get around to watching the movie, now that I’ve read the book.
