This has been a good week to get photos of celebration – it’s our local county fair. However, my side of the celebration at the fair always looks a little different, as my husband and I are volunteers out there and help to put it on (more him than me, but I help where I can).

The things I see are racing pigs relaxing before a race.

They do two races a night. Not a bad life for a pig, especially because they get extra snacks at the end of the race.

I generally see people enjoying themselves from a distance while they watch tractor pulls, and other events that so many people work to put on behind the scenes.

We all work in the mud, rain, blazing sun, whatever the weather to put on as many shows as possible.

We – actually this is where my husband usually comes in – work in the dark to rewire electrical panels when one too many things have been plugged into the outlets.

So, next time you’re at your local fair, remember to thank the people putting it on. Even if things aren’t as perfect as you want them to be, they are a lot of people working hard to make things better.

I swear, when the first photo popped up I laughed! LOL I needed that! I haven’t been to the fair in years, but I KNOW it’s a lot of work! I’m sure everyone appreciates it!

I’m glad I could make you laugh. Saturday was the last day, and the post-fair depression is starting to set in. I miss everyone.
