I’m excited to announce that I’m going to be an aunt!  My sister (and her husband) are having a baby.  And I got to take the announcement photos.  Since they posted them on Facebook yesterday, I think it’s safe for me to share them now.

We had a lot of fun doing this quick little photo shoot, and it gave me an excuse to buy a chalkboard.

Felicitations! And don’t we know, that baby is gonna have the cutest quilts, bibs and soft toys the world has ever seen, courtesy of Auntie Andrea!

Thanks Anna! I just need to stop being behind on my sewing. The whole moving thing has really put a damper on my productivity.

I hear you! I finally got back to work on the Storm at Sea coverlet, I’m just going to line it with no batting as a summer bedspread. Dummy here–there are 42 large squares surrounded by triangles, so instead of cutting 42 x 4, I only cut 42 triangles! Back to the cutting board!

I feel your pain. I kept running into the same problem last night when I was working on the pinwheels for this month’s Project Quilting challenge. I’d be short 1 cut square, which was fine until I had everything else pieced together and suddenly was going to be stuck with 2 matching HSTs right next to each other. Needless to say, the seam ripper and I spent some time together last night.

All quilters learn the lesson: As you sew, so shall you rip!
