Spot has been cooking for 28 weeks now. That’s 7 whole months! She still doesn’t have a name, but we do have it narrowed down to about half a dozen options. That’s a good thing, right? I’ve already been to one appointment for her this week, but I’ve got another tomorrow. It’s the glucose test, so wish me luck. I really want to pass it the first time so that I don’t have to take the dreaded 3-hour glucose test.

As far as doctor’s visits go, I’ve already been to one appointment for her this week, and I’ve got another tomorrow. It’s the glucose test, so wish me luck. I really want to pass it the first time so that I don’t have to take the dreaded 3-hour glucose test.

Outside of all of those not-so-fun medical appointments, I have gotten to do a few more exciting things in the last week. In preparation for the baby shower next month, Spot is now registered at Babies ‘R Us and Target. We registered for pretty much everything including most of the bigger items like play yards and car seats at Babies ‘R Us, and then I went to target and registered for smaller items there. That way everyone has some options for where they want to go and what they want to get. And, since Matt was with me at Babies ‘R Us there was a lot of “No we don’t need something that expensive.” He was very concerned with spending of other people’s money. Of course, he also got a lesson in the cost of baby items that I don’t think he was ready for. Yes, car seats really can cost $300 (or more), and sheets for a baby crib are just as expensive as sheets for a full sized bed. If your budget for this kind of stuff is tight then we recommend going to a second-hand store as the prices are low there. On top of this, this article called What is the best cribs @ safebabymonitor.com is a great guide for any expecting parents who have no idea what to look out for! I’m not sure why these things cost so much but it’s definitely worth paying because you know your little bundle of joy will be comfortable.

But, I am happy to report that after doing the Target registry for Spot on Saturday morning, I got a chance to stop at Burlington and Tuesday Mornings, where I picked up a few sale items (probably last season) for her. She got some amazing baby Converse. They are infant size 3, so they shouldn’t fit her until the fall, but being purple and grey plaid they are more fall/winter shoes anyway. I also picked her up a pack of onesies with foxes on them in 3-6 month size I believe. I figured that was a good size to go with, because she will need them eventually, and most people will be buying smaller sizes for the baby shower. And I also got her a dress to wear to church for Easter (not pictured), a toy fox and a nice grey and orange throw for her room.

I’m pretty excited about the little fox toy because we picked out neutrals for the nursery with foxes and racoons on them. Yea for foxes and racoons.
