Happy birthday to me! I turned 30 today. That’s right the big 3-0. Now since I’m 6 days older than my husband, I’ll get to hear about being an old lady for the next few days, but I certainly don’t feel old.
Some interesting facts about today- besides it being my birthday:
- I share my birthday with Leonardo da Vinci, blues singer Bessie Smith, and actress Emma Watson.
- Cromwell was appointed Chief Secretary to Henry VIII on April 15th, 1534.
- Lincoln died after being shot while attending the play, “Our American Cousin”, at Ford’s Theatre in 1865.
- And, in 1912 the RMS Titanic sunk at 2:27 AM off Newfoundland as band played on.
Do you have any advice for my next decade?
Many happy returns of the day! (Which is a nice, if archaic, way of saying, may you live a long life!)
May the hardest day of the coming year of your life be as pleasant as the very best day of the one just past. May you learn, and laugh, and love–and be loved in return. May your gifts never be exchanged by the reciever, and may you always discover new gifts within yourself and others.
Aww…. Thank you so much Anna! That birthday wish is beautifully poetic.
