Never wear a dress to a photo shoot. That was the first lesson I learned today. It was a cute dress, and I looked nice at work, but man…. I should have made time to go home and change between events. Wearing a dress makes it very difficult to crawl around for floor level shots.
I did get some very good shots though. It really was a strange photo shoot, but the promotional poster for Gibson County Theatre Company’s production of The One That Got Away is going to be great. Almost as good as the play. (I got to read a perusal copy). I’m working with a few different concepts for the imagery. We’ll probably end up using something closer to a standard photo, but I’m a big fan of the vintage style of imagery used in old Boy Scout Ads, especially with the concept that we are going for with this promotional piece.
We did the photo shoot at the Princeton Country Club, which is where we will be hosting the production this September. Jessie, the show’s director was there giving directions for the shoot to Jay and Krista, our models. We had a lot of fun attaching fishing tackle to Jay and playing with the mural on the wall in the sun room, where we made use of the natural light.
I love how the picture turned out! Do you mess around with photography too?
I dabble in a little bit of everything… floral arrangements, beading, scrapbooking, print design, web development, photography and anything else I can possibly come up with.
