This is the gingersnap recipe that my middle school math teacher gave me. I never was any good with numbers, but I manage well enough for baking.
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup margarine or butter
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoons salt
- ¼ cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
Instructions:
- Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in egg and molasses. Beat until fluffy.
- Add mixture of flour, soda, and spices to creamed mixture, mix well.
- Shape into 1-inch balls, roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture (3 teaspoons cinnamon to 2 cups sugar).
- Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool.
