Two-Tone Fudge Brownies

These moist, fudge brownies have a scrumptious topping that tastes just like chocolate chip cookie dough! Everyone loves these brownies and they make enough to feed a crowd.
Ingredients:
Chocolate Layer
- 1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
Cookie Dough Layer
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 T milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a microwave, melt chocolate chips, stir until smooth. Cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in melted chocolate.
- Combine flour and baking soda in separate bowl; and gradually add to batter.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Spread mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan. Bake at 350 F for 16-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- In a small mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in milk and vanilla.
- Gradually add flour.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop by tablespoonfuls over cooled brownies; carefully spread over top.
- Cut into squares. Store in refrigerator.
