My absolute favorite part of the fair every year is being the “official photographer” on Concert night.  It gives me the opportunity to get some great photos of the concert, from some vantage points most people never get to see.

A view from behind the stage, of Hunter Hayes looking over the crowd.

I also get a chance to get up close and personal with the people on stage during the show.

Hunter Hayes played guitar and piano at the show.

Of course, I also go out in the crowd and take more traditional concert photos.

Like this photo – from the beginning of the concert.

Overall, it was a great concert.

There were lots of people at the show.

We had over 1600 people on the track, plus a full grandstand, and the hills on either side of the grandstand were full as well. As a matter of fact, it was the biggest night that the fair has ever had.

I think Hunter Hayes enjoyed the concert, too –

Really nice shots of the concert. Wish our box seat people would use their seats, looks strange to have a packed grandstand, 1600 screaming fans on the track, people everywhere on the sidelines and only half the box seats filled.

I know part of that was that I took that shot before you even introduced the queens, so it was at least 15 minutes before the show started, and you know how the box seat people are about showing up at the last minute. Plus all the kids of the people with the box seats were probably on the track anyway.
