My weekly update on project progress.
Finishes
My Zen Chic quilt came back from Designs by Laura Jo on Monday night, so I got busy Tuesday evening, trimming the quilt top down and adding the binding. I still can’t believe what a good job she did on the quilting. It looks great.
Now if I could just to keep the cat off of it long enough to take some photos.
Finished Quilt Tops:
The Mod Crazy Quilt is waiting it’s turn to be quilted. I had originally planned to back this quilt with minky, but because minky is evil, I had all sorts of problems and ended up having to rip out a lot of stitches. So instead, I think I’ll use woven backing. I just need to look through my stash and see if I have anything large enough to make into a backing for this quilt.
The black and white camera quilt is still waiting it’s turn to go to the quilter, and it will go out, because Joanna has some wonderful ideas that will just make this quilt amazing.
I also have another quilt top finished that I seem to keep forgetting to add to this list, though I’m not sure why. My String Theory quilt top has a fun bright orange linen backing waiting for it.
Quilt Tops in Progress:
Still no progress on the Impromptu-along quilt that I started last year as part of an ImAGingerMonkey sew-along. I keep finding other projects I need to be working on instead.
And that collage fabric I picked up ended up making it’s way from the project specific fabrics pile into a quilt top in progress this week. Right now that quilt is about 54″ square. So, I’m looking at adding a little less than 20″ more to the top.
No progress on my Christmas crazy quilt. I haven’t felt much like doing any hand work lately.
Now… to get some of these projects done.

Your cat seems to be enjoying helping you with that binding! All of your WiPs are lovely, but I really love your black and white quilt. I’ll bet it will be stunning when quilted!
Thanks so much Nadine! I’m certainly hoping it will be. Joanna has some wonderful ideas for it.
You have been making wonderful progress, Andrea! Love your Zen Chic quilt. It looks fabulous all finished up! And that birdie fabric looks like it found just the right home. Really adds a pop to the neutral piecing!
Thanks so much Lorna! I look forward to sharing the whole thing with everyone on Monday.
