This week’s #OurProject52 is all about blue.
It’s probably really weird of me, but the very first thing I think of when I hear the word blue is the song “Shpadoinkle Day” from Cannibal: the Musical.
The sky is blue and all the leaves are green. The sun’s as warm as a baked potato.
I think I know precisely what I mean when I say it’s a shpadoinkle day!
So in honor of that most ridiculous of musicals and songs I present to you a blue sky and green leaves, even during these cold winter days.
And as I continue to hum that little ear worm, I think about all of the blue I am surrounded by every day. There are tiny life-sized smurf figurines, a TARDIS, and even a blue Raku Monk all living on my office shelves.
Though blue is hard to get away from at work. OCU’s colors are 2 shades of blue. That means it’s everywhere around campus.
And that’s probably why I don’t have much of it in my own home. I tend to stick to neutrals there. Is there a lot of blue in your life?

I don’t wear a lot of blue, I really don’t own any and it’s not one of my favorite colors but I do love a deep navy blue. Painting my son’s room that color
I’m sure it will look amazing. I love a good navy. It makes such a good neutral.
Blue jeans are my consistent blue. We do have a blue-ish sofa in our living room with a rug. lol #ourproject52
Blue jeans are a great kind of blue. I have a couple that I like, but I’m still trying to find my perfect pair.
Someone likes Doctor Who! Winning! It’s amazing how many shades of blue are around us. Stopping by from the link up. <3 Great job this week!!
Thanks so much Dina! I love the Doctor.
There is indeed a great deal of blue in my life. It’s one of my favourite colours, in all its shades, and I love quilting fabrics in blues, greens and purples.
Andrea, I sent you the photos of the Creation quilt again, and a plain email to see if it gets through (Jan 28 and 29). Do you suppose I’m being shunted into your Spam Folder?
I shot you a quick email the other day. I got the email you sent without the photos, but not the one that had them. Maybe there were too many and my account wouldn’t accept an email with such a large attached file size? Who knows?
I didn’t realize there was so much blue in my life until this week’s challenge. It’s everywhere. I actually wore a blue dress to my senior prom.
I’m always surprised how much color is in my life, in general. I’m normally one for neutrals, but when I start to take inventory of my surroundings, I do find a lot of color.
My bedroom is blue. The people who lived here before me painted it that and I never changed it. It’s grown on me!
I find a lot of things grow on me, given the chance. Even if it wouldn’t be something I would have picked myself, when I’m around it everyday I begin to appreciate the good in it.
I think your little knick knacks are so cute. Who doesn’t love a Smurf??
Gargamel. Gargamel doesn’t love a smurf, but everyone needs an arch enemy. 😉
It seems like I’m reading a lot of blue books currently. I started to take a picture of all the blue books currently on my bookshelf, but I found something else that worked with the Blue theme.
Huh, that’s kind of surprising. Now that you’ve said that, I look at my bookshelf and that’s about the only color that isn’t there. How strange.
