Matt spent Sunday afternoon working on the MT. He started the afternoon moving the tires in for plowing.
After Matt finished with the wheels, he got down on his hands and knees and scrubbed the plow down. (Now if he would only try that in the kitchen…)
About that time, Dad and Carolyn showed up, which ended up working to Matt’s advantage. Matt was able to have dad help him load the MT on the trailer so that we could go out to test the plow in the sand that Dad farms on.

After a few passes with the plow, Dad and Matt stopped to do some more cleaning on the plow. This time with some oil and a wire wheel on a sander.
After they got most of the rust ground off of the plow, Matt let me make a round with the tractor. And when I say “let” I mean “convinced”… which wasn’t too smart on his part, seeing as the tractor’s breaks don’t work right now. But I guess it was alright, since I didn’t wreck or anything. I even keep the wheel in the furrow.
Have you ever driven a tractor? When is the last time you drove it?
I bet old John really popped pulling that plow, great photos.
It wasn’t too bad, but it did pull pretty hard with the plow in the sand. I think Matt said it wouldn’t even pull it in 2nd gear. How would you like to plow that whole field in 1st?
That would be pretty slow, we plowed in 2nd. in the fall with the B (just on the other side of the hill) sometimes in the spring we could use 3rd.
