Wednesday was a busy night at the fair. We had a horse pull on the ag track and both an Indiana Truck Pullers Association pull and Local Truck pull at the grandstand.
The horse pull went well, though it was short with only 4 teams of horses. The horses are huge, much taller than a person and very strong. I would hate for them to get loose.
We had all sorts of problems at the Truck Pull. The ITPA pull was wonderful. It went very smoothly and was a good show. The local pull on the other hand was a HUGE mess. We had tons of problems with pull order and classes. I’m sure it wasn’t any one person’s fault, but I seriously considered quiting. I was really tierd about halfway through of having to correct myself with almost every pull. It seemed we just couldn’t get it together.
We do have a solution for next year though. We are going to have someone down in the pits with a radio as well as someone at the announce stand who’s sole purpose is to communicate with that person in the pits to give us any updates and changes to the pull orders at they happen.
