As I mentioned in last week’s post, I think you should always dress well. And since I’ve been back to teaching classes at the University for a couple weeks now, I’m wearing a lot more suits than I did during the summer. That’s alright though, I love a good suit – and it’s even beginning to cool off so the suit coats aren’t quite so torturous uncomfortable to wear around campus. Plus it means I get to start considering some of those cooler weather fabrics – like leather. And yes, leather can be classy, let me prove it to you.
Meet a beautiful leather (ok… this one isn’t real leather) kick pleat skirt from The Limited.
Hitting just above the knee, it adds some classic edge to an outfit without looking like it belongs on the back of a Harley. And I love it with this houndstooth jacket, also from The Limited.
When I wore them together this week, I just paired them with a simple chocolate brown camisole, and some mixed metallic jewelry.
Oh, and did I mention that the jacket has velvety brown elbow patches?! I’m in love with them. The jacket makes me feel like one of those crazy old lit professors that get lost in his own library.
Well, maybe I have just a bit shinier.
Would you wear it? What’s your go to suiting option?
