After I picked up my copy of Gertie’s New Book for Better Sewing, I knew I wanted to try out working with a vintage pattern. I looked around at the local antique shops, but didn’t find any patterns in my size, so I went to the internet. There were a lot of amazing patterns on Etsy and Ebay, but everything in my size was pretty much out of my budget.
So, I took a look at the vintage reprints from the big 4 pattern companies. I was so excited to find some amazing Vintage Vogue patterns. So, I joined the frequent buyers club and got 4 patterns for less than I would have paid for two.
I’ve even already made a dress from the V8789 pattern. I love how it came out, and I’m sure I’ll be making another version of the dress soon. The other patterns I picked up were V2902, V2903, and V1172.
Beautiful dresses! Be sure to blog the finished product so we can see!!!
I most definitely will. It might be a bit before I get enough pretty fabrics picked out tho.
Love the dresses! Weren’t their waists tiny? Wow and don’t forget the petticoat underneath to give the dress fullness. You will look just like those models.
Thanks Judy! But I’m pretty sure I’d need to grow another foot or so to look like the ladies on the package art.
