I’ve noticed something about writing a blog. I always feel pushed to create new content. Sometimes it’s a good thing, pushing me to create even during my creative slumps, but other times, it feels like a hindrance. After all, how do you really create beauty on a timeline?
I’ve decided that while I will continue to blog, I won’t be pushing myself to have a new sewing project on the blog every week. First, it’s expensive to have a new sewing project every week. I like expensive fabric and I really can’t afford to keep spending $80/week on fabric. Unless, of course, you want to donate to the cause.
That means projects that I can make pretty much entirely from my stash, which is mostly fat quarters of quilting cottons. On the plus side, that means I’ll be doing a lot more pieced projects. But I’m feeling a need for some inspiration. What are your favorite sewing projects that work well with fat quarters? Do you have any specific patterns or books you would recommend?
Moda bakeshop publishes a lot of tutorials which use precuts. Some are better than others, and searching can be challenging, but it’s one source of ideas.
Thanks Lisa. And yes, they certainly need to spend some time making the search terms a little better. 🙂
