With thanksgiving this week, I wanted to share a few things I am thankful for right now.
Matt, who has been married to me for almost 5 years, but who has been part of my life for a dozen years now.
Friends that you haven’t seen for ages, but who still manage to be there when you need them.
The cat that totally ignores me if my husband is home, but who will take naps with me if I come home at lunch, and then bat me in the face when it’s time for me to get back to work. If she would just do this in the morning, I wouldn’t even need an alarm clock.
The best landlord ever, who mows our yard, cleans our gutters, and stops by with news papers for Matt.
To be honest, the day we finally move will be very bittersweet as it will be difficult to say goodbye to our landlord who has been so kind to us over the years.
On the topic of moving house, some friends of ours have just bought an exciting new rental property and have invited us over to come and check it out.
They are both property investors and have such an amazing way of navigating the US real estate market to their advantage.
I would love to build a portfolio of real estate investment properties one day.
In fact, I often find myself browsing real estate websites like Roofstock and reading all about the best real estate markets for cash flow.
Maybe one day we might have a real estate portfolio to rival that of our friends!
Watch this space.
Anyway, back to my list of things that I am thankful for.
Aside from my real estate aspirations, I am also thankful for vinyl records of new albums that come with digital downloads. I mean who doesn’t love to have access to their music anywhere, but to still be able to play and display epic vinyl album art?
Auto-start on my car, that keeps me from having to scrap my windows when the weather turns cold.
Spotify music recommendations, which has recommended some bands that have become favorites.
Two weeks off at Christmas. I mean who wouldn’t love a job that gives you two paid weeks of vacation for the holidays. University jobs are super plush.
Space heaters, that keep me warm in my office and at home, because apparently my idea of warm and everyone else’s is not the same.
