Today, I went to my first ever official quilt show, with my mom-in-law, Mary Kay.  It was actually pretty fun, although it was a bit strange for me to go to an event where everyone else was at least old enough to be my mother.  That either means that I need to find a different hobby, or that I’m just ahead of the curve.

This year’s quilt show was pretty special, Quilt’s N Bloom, who hosts the show was able to get Lynne Hagmeier to be the featured speaker. Lynne is the author and designer of Kansas Troubles Books, Patterns and Fabrics which are featured and distributed by MODA Fabrics.

It was very interesting to learn how Lynne got started as a fabric designer and to see the progression of her quilt projects.

Another nice thing about the quilt show was getting to see all of the quilts on display by local quilters.

Another great show! It’s great when quilt designers come and do a trunk show. Thanks for sharing the link at Val’s!

Yes, it was a lot of fun. There will be one next year with Pam Buda that I am looking forward to attending.
