Lots of Binding

I’ve seem to be doing a LOT of binding lately. That may be a good thing. It means projects are done, but it’s also about the most boring part of making a quilt. In the last week, I’ve done the binding on 3 quilts, and I have binding for one more still to do. On the plus side, I am getting really good at putting on binding.
The first quilt I bound this week was a Christmas present for my dad. The quilt is 100×120-inches, so it has a total of 440 inches of 1/4-inch binding on it.
The next quilt I bound was the shiny chevron quilt that just came back from Cara. It was a lot smaller, only 45.5×74-inches, a total of 238 inches of 1/4 inch binding. I started with this quilt, because Mary Kay wanted to take it to show to her quilting group today. Of course, I also wanted to sleep under it. It’s super fuzzy and warm with the minky backing.
I also did the binding on my sister’s quilt. It’s a Christmas present too, so getting it done was sort of a priority. This quilt is about 84×92-inches, using 352 inches of 1/4-inch binding.
I still have one more quilt that is ready for binding – my crazy quilt. It’s huge, and I’m tired of binding, so I may take a break and go back to my dressmaking for a few days. Though with the holidays coming up, I feel like I might be lucky to get 2 days of sewing in a row soon.
Have you finished any projects lately?
