You may remember the bird quilt top that I shared with you a couple weeks ago. I am excited to tell you that I finished quilting and binding the quilt last week.
The quilt features the bird border print from the Collage line by Carrie Bloomston for Windham fabrics. When I saw this fabric I knew I had to make something from it. My design for the quilt is a twist on the coin quilt. I love that I was able to make the quilt almost entirely in neutrals, without it becoming boring. I think the pops of color from the top of the bird border print fabric really helped.
I chose to do very simple quilting on this quilt, only quilting 1/4-inch from the horizontal seams in the quilt. The backing for the quilt was pieced from leftover fabrics that I used on the top. The binding for the quilt was also scrappy, using left over strips from the backing.
Have you used fabric from Windam’s Collage line? What did you make?
