Finished Projects
I broke out of my quilting rut and made a bag for my sister’s birthday over the weekend. I’m really pleased with how it came out.
Finished Flimsys:
I haven’t done anything with my finished quilt tops. There are still 4 of them ready for quilting. Those are the Communique quilt, Double Exposure quilt, String Theory quilt, and Impromptu quilt. I need to convince my husband to let me send one or two of these off for quilting.
Quilt Tops in Progress:
I feel like a slacker because I haven’t done much with the hand work on my Christmas quilt in the last few weeks. I just don’t have to mojo to do it by the time I’m done with all of my other projects in the evening.
I also haven’t touched my Halloween quilt. I just don’t know what to make from it.
Project Plans:
In my fabric waiting to become quilts is the geisha panel that I want to hand embellish for a wall quilt,
some fabrics my sister gave me for my birthday, along with some extras from this line/colorway that I picked up which I hope to make into a double wedding ring. Have you made a double wedding ring quilt? What templates did you use? Did you like them?
I also have lots of Christmas fabric left overs that need to be turned into something,
and lots of other stash fabrics for any inspiration that may strike. That doesn’t even include the fashion fabrics that are waiting for me to feel like tackling some clothing projects again.

I’ve started hand-quilting the baby quilt top I finished; good thing my friend isn’t due till October or so! Her sister wants to learn to make a few things, we’ll start with a bib and go from there.

I love that Halloween piece. What if you did a sashing strip at the top and bottom of each of the rows with sashing and then set all of the rows in a background of something like a dark grey?
