I’m always looking for ways to do things myself when I can. It’s not that I think everything should be a DIY project, but that I seem to have very expensive taste. My pinboards are full of things I love that I think I could hack.
It’s also much less expensive to make something myself than to pay someone else to do it- at least if I don’t include my time. And if I’m making something for me, I usually don’t. I get the chance to create, so that’s usually good enough for me.

Now, if we weren’t renting, I’d have a whole house to DIY into my vision of a home. Would you rather create the perfect pieces for you home, or buy them?
Your house is beautiful, rented or not. You have excellent taste. I wish I could walk into that room right now, curl up in a chair (or better, on a sofa) and chat over a cuppa chai.
