How many books have you read so far this year?
Thanks to Goodreads, it’s easy to keep track of the number of books I read each year. I do the Goodreads Reading Challenge each year, which allows me to set a goal for the number of books I want to read, and to keep track of the books I’ve finished.
So far this year, I’ve completed 49 books. My goal for the year was just 52 – one per week. I’m quite a bit ahead of schedule, so I can’t wait to see how many books I am able to read this year.
Do you set goals for the number of books you hope to read?
I’ve been wondering if there’s a way to show a re-read of a title I’ve already got on my GoodReads reviews. During my book slump I found myself reading the Phryne Fisher books again, and some others. I don’t bother to “challenge” myself to read; to me, it’s like breathing or eating…only more important than those.
As far as fresh books, so far this year I’ve read 128, not counting a few I started and bailed on. I notice I read more and more, as I sleep less and less.
You should be able to re-read books now. Simply change the book from read to reading, then when you finish it again, you can add the new date.
Here is a tutorial on how to do it, by marking different editions: https://andiabcs.com/2015/07/16/goodreads-tip-adding-rereads/
