Fashion Friday – Styling the Pastille Dress

As you may remember, I recently made the Pastille Dress from the Colette Patterns Sewing Handbook. With the way the weather has been, it has been difficult to get out and take good photos of the dress, but when I wore it one day this week I had several people comment on how much they liked it and how I had it styled. So, even with a dark dreary evening I headed out to get some photos of my dress and one of the ways I love to wear it.
As you may remember, this dress is made using one of the Birds and Bees prints by Tula Pink.
I paired my dress with a pair of burnt orange tights I picked up at the Target. I love how they worked with the outfit, coordinating with the colors in the dress without actually matching.
The tights did help to tone the outfit down, but I wanted a clean grounded look for my dress – at least for this time of year. (I guarantee that during the summer I will pair this dress with bright pink tights and yellow shoes.) That’s why I decided to wear my brown Sage Boots by Born and a great camel brown belt I picked up at Body Central. I love how the neutral solids pulled this look together.

Yay! I’m a little late, but I love the dress with those tights, boots and belt. Wouldn’t change anything!
