First a big congratulations to Kayla! She was the big winner in our Rafflecopter giveaway of Gloria McKinnon’s book Glorious Embellishments.
If you didn’t win, but would still like a copy for yourself, order one online from Amazon or stop by your local fabric and crafting store to see if they have it in stock.
And to try to help you along on your decision to get this book, I’ve started another crazy quilt. This one is going to use a lot more embellishment techniques than I did in my first two crazy quilts. And more importantly, I’m going to attempt to make this quilt more thematic, sticking with dustier autumnal colors and creams.
I’m also planning out a pattern using multiple block sized and faux sashing using bias tape.
I’ve got my first block set sewn together.
I’ve even done some embellishing. It’s no where near done, but it’s getting somewhere.
My plan for the quilt is a 48×72 inch quilt with alternating 12 and 6-inch blocks.
I’m pretty excited about it, even if the hand work for this quilt feels overwhelming. What sewing have you done lately?
Thank you! I am very excited, and so is Grandma. This book will be loved!
