I’ve been working on another small quilt recently, trying to use up some of my stash.   For this project I’m using the School Days Charm Pack by American Jane Patterns for Moda.

I’m pairing the patterns with a dark blue floral I had purchased for some long forgotten project.  I actually think that the blue fabric moved in with me when I got married 2-1/2 years ago.

Once I had all the HSTs sewn together, I laid out the fabric a few different ways and decided that I liked the look diagonal lines created the best.

So, I got my fabric all laid out, and pinned to a sheet, that I could hang up near my work area downstairs.  Then I started sewing, row by row.

The finished size of the quilt, would only be 32×40-inches – and I am wanting something just a bit bigger than that, so I also decided to add a 2-inch border in the blue fabric.

I’m planning to add a second border, as well.  The outside border will be whatever fabric I decide on for the back.  Right now, I’m really feeling the Red Notebook fabric from the School Days line.

And, assuming I have enough of it left, I also plan to bind the quilt with the dark blue floral fabric.  What are you doing to use up your fabric stash?
