This is my mother-in-law’s recipe for chocolate pour over icing. It’s amazing served with yellow cake and ice cream.
Chocolate Pour Over Icing
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup white corn syrup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Add all ingredients to a medium saucepot.
Mix well, stirring constantly over low heat until butter is melted.
Bring mixture to boil for one minute.
Remove from heat.
This can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheated. It is best served warm.
