Finished Quilt Tops:

I’ve got a brand new finished quilt top to add to the three that were already done. The Communique Quilt top is finally finished. I’m 20 thousand kinds of happy about how it came out. You can visit Monday’s post for more photos of the finish. And, it’s a long way from done, but I’ve started piecing a stripped back for the quilt using left over stash fabric from the front.

I also finished the backing for the Impromptu quilt, which means it’s ready for quilting.

That gives me a total of 3 quilts with tops and backs ready for quilting. Those are the Double Exposure quilt, String Theory quilt, and Impromptu quilt. I should probably get on that soon, or send them to someone who will.

Quilt Tops in Progress:

The Christmas Crazy Quilt is making some very slow progress, but I guess I should expect that, since it does involve me doing a lot of hand work. And handwork is always slower than working by machine.

Project Plans:

In the next week or so, I’m hoping to finish up the backing of my Communique Quilt. That will mean a clear work bench so that I can start another project.

I’ve already got several groups of fabric that are waiting to become quilts. They include some Halloween fabrics I plan to make into a triangle quilt,

a great geisha panel that I want to hand embellish for a wall quilt,

some fabrics my sister gave me for my birthday which might become a double wedding ring (but I’m not sure just yet),

fabric bundles

lots of Christmas fabric left overs that need to be turned into something (maybe Dresden plates),

christmas fabrics

and lots of other stash fabrics for any inspiration that may strike. And that doesn’t even include the fashion fabrics that are waiting for me to feel like tackling some clothing projects again.

What are you planning on making next?

You sure are a busy bee! Those quilt tops are all so fun, the first is especially fun to look at! Hope you can get them quilted and out of the WIP pile soon 🙂

Thanks so much Renee! I’ll probably be sending most of them out to be quilted because I’m wanting something a little fancier than I can do on my own machine.

I enjoyed looking at all your beautiful quilts!
    Love the geisha pannel.:)

Thanks so much Maryse! I’m looking forward to starting that quilt once I finish my Christmas crazy quilt. I refuse to have two quilts that need hand work at the same time.

Really beautiful work! I’m especially loving the Impromptu quilt today — just lovely! 😀
