This week’s Project 52 theme is morning.

And let me tell you how much I hate mornings- especially weekday mornings.  Mornings are the time of day that you have to get out of a nice warm bed and get ready to go to work.

mornings

My biggest problem with the morning is probably that it doesn’t seem to matter what time I go to bed, I don’t sleep well- not until about 20 minutes before the alarm goes off. At least that’s how it feels most days. I am doing better about not hitting the snooze button, but I still get up less than an hour before I have to be at the office.

And my mornings just seem so blurry…. Nothing is in focus yet.

blurry morning

Weekends are much better, though. They are nice lazy mornings where I can look at the frost on the windows from under the comforter with the cat at my feet. Those are good days. I wish every day could be like that.

I think the only thing in our house that really likes mornings is the amaryllis.

It’s so hard getting up when you haven’t slept well. I feel that pain. Nice to meet you!

    • Andrea on January 15, 2015 at 10:29 am

Nice to meet you too Tia! I’ve been heading to bed about 9:30 or so each night and not getting up till about 7:30. You would think that 10 hours would be more than enough, but I still wake up tired. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog.

LOL I’m so with you on the whole not a morning person thing. It just comes way too soon, no matter how early I go to bed.

That blurry shot is the best! Totally feel it.

    • Andrea on January 15, 2015 at 10:28 am

Thanks so much Daenel. Glad to know I’m not the only person who doesn’t do mornings. I’m so glad you stopped by!

I won’t say I’m not a morning person but I will say if I go long stretches without sleep I can turn into a walking nightmare!!

I love sleeping in, it just only seems natural that you should wake yourself from sleep and not something or someone!

    Thanks for linking up!

The days I get to wake up on my own instead of with the alarm are always the best.

From one hardline insomniac to another, here’s something that works for me–and I know it sounds bizarre, but there’s science behind it. Eat two kiwis before going to bed. They don’t make me feel “sleepy” but I do find that I sleep more and rest better! I may wake in the night but I go back to sleep and wake up feeling rested.

Thanks Anna, I may have to give that a try.

I am not really a morning person either. I can relate to you in that the best sleep seems to happen 20-30 minutes before the alarm sounds!??

I love the shot of the flower.

    Happy Weekend!

Thanks for stopping by Shon. I’ve been enjoying this whole project 52 things even if I did have to take some early morning photos this week. It’s so great to meet new people.

Trouble is these days it seems that when I could sleep as late as I like, end up being the days that I come wide awake at 5.30 or some silly time like that!!

I have always been at my best from about 11 AM to about 7 PM. Don’t know what you would call that.

    • Andrea on January 16, 2015 at 8:29 am

That’s my best time too. Though I can easily turn into a night owl if I let myself, not that I get much done during that time.

I’m attempting to learn to love mornings. They can be loved, right?

    • Andrea on January 17, 2015 at 8:37 am

I know that weekend mornings can be loved. I’m not sure about the ones where I have to get out of the house.

  8. LaShawn on January 18, 2015 at 6:46 am

Listen. I hate mornings. Until I actually get out of bed. I have this ongoing thing where I KNOW I need to get out of bed early, where I have to. But I always wish I could sleep in! And then when I CAN sleep in, I’m wide awake! LOL

    • Andrea on January 18, 2015 at 7:02 pm

That sounds about right. I always seem to wake up early on the weekend.

I love that shot of the amaryllis! I actually used to photograph flowers all the time.

Very good shot of the blooming lily!

I hope your week goes well.

    • Andrea on January 19, 2015 at 1:42 pm

Thank you so much Tonya! I’ve actually taken a few more since it’s bloomed out. I’m pretty pleased with them. Especially since I discovered the closeup setting on my camera.
