When I first started cooking and baking food, I had to have a recipe. It’s the main reason I’ve always been better at baking than traditional cooking. My sister has always been good at “a pinch of this, and a dash of that,” but it took me a long time to get comfortable with that idea.

I honestly still don’t venture very far from basic recipes, but I’m slowing learning how to do it. That’s how I came up with my spiced honey bars. But today, I want to share with you the recipe that taught me how to make a recipe my own- an easy bread recipe from Simply So Good.

The basic recipe is only 4 ingredients. You can make it as is and get a great crusty bread, or add anything you want to mix up the flavor.  The bread gave me a chance to try out flavor combinations I wasn’t sure about and was beyond easy to make. Give it a try and tell me what you think.
