This week’s project is another baby quilt. It’s pieced with brightly colored scraps from a variety of fabric lines. The block concepts are from Cluck Cluck Sew’s Squares and Strips quilt tutorial, which I have made several times. However for this one, I did the blocks at half-size, so they finish at 4-inches instead of 8-inches. It was a great way to use up smaller scraps.
With this one, I used a selection of coordinating scraps, but as long as you have the right number of blocks when you are done, you could make a really scrappy version with the bits that you have left from all of your projects.
Now I just have to decide what to back the quilt with and what thread I will use to quilt it.

I love this cheerful, scrappy quilt!
Beautiful! Just beautiful. I am so glad we got away from the old “delicate pastels” thing for babies. I’m sure they find bright colours and prints much more interesting even as newborns.
Thank you! I’ve found that my little one loves bright colors, and always has, so I figure it’s a good guess that other babies will like all the colors too.
Sweet way to use up scraps. I love Cluck Cluck Sew patterns!
Her patterns really are great. I know I’ve made no less than 4 using her Squares and Strips tutorial.
This is so bright and cheerful. It would cheer anyone up!
Thanks! I think this one will be for another baby (not mine), if I ever get it done.
Love it! I have so many scraps and am slowly sorting them
I’m trying not to think about my scrap stash.
You have some lovely scraps in this quilt!
I love scrappy and this is such a great quilt. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
Great scrap project – there’s a use for every size and shape of scrap in that design! 🙂
